Class Outline
The classes are run in a very relaxed and casual setting at a private residence. Students do not need to bring anything as all is provided, except a good sense of humour and an appetite!
Wear: Casual/comfortable clothes and shoes (During colder weather bring a jacket, as classes are held outside)
- 10 am – Student’s arrive and greeted by the host/s. Registration of student with time to relax and enjoy a light picada (antipasto) and drinks, while meeting other students, before an official start to the class
- 10.30 am – Class begins! Welcome and housekeeping/introductions
- 11 am – Let’s start the charcoals! Fire starting demonstration and explanation
- 11.30 am – What’s on the day’s menu (presenting each cut of meat and rest of menu)
- 12.00 pm – Discuss the features of an Argentine BBQ (parrilla), ingredients needed for a BBQ, preperation of meats and side dishes
- 12.30 pm – Let the grilling begin. Discuss cooking techniques when using a grill (parrilla), with student observation/participation
- 1 pm – The history of the Argentine BBQ, demonstrate various techniques for starting coals and teach new tips/secrets
- 1.30 pm – Chimichurri demonstration with student participation
- 2.00 – 2.30 pm – Loosen your belt and take a seat – Lunch will be served
- 3.30 – 4pm – Class ends
